Human Communication
One of the requirements in interhuman communication is a mutual understanding of feelings. In actual communication, however, people often have the impression that the other side understands their words but not their feelings. Such instances point to the need for the study of basic questions such as whether or not feelings and words (voices) are really getting across. The Human Communication Group investigates the communication process on the level of the physical process of vocal expression and cognitive processes in the realms of psychology and neurology. Naturally, students also consider practical questions, such as measures enabling pronunciation approaching that of native speakers and techniques for improving interpersonal relations.
