Systems of Second Language Education

The Systems of Second Language Education Course engages in research drawing on interdisciplinary knowledge in fields such as linguistics, psychology, and analysis of linguistic presentations, which are at the foundation of education in English and other foreign languages. The aim is to generate talented personnel for research and practice of second-language education by systematically tying all this knowledge together. In this field, guidance for students emphasizes the following five areas: 1) interdisciplinary language education and research based on knowledge from pertinent fields including linguistics and psychology; 2) application of a wide range of linguistic cultures and representative products in language teaching methods, and research into related methodology; 3) practical research concerning language instruction using IT systems and other elements; 4) research on fundamental cultural and social factors in the environment surrounding language education; and 5) support for activities of educational guidance and training in the classroom.
