１．英文和訳（各５点、計25点、部分点あり）
@ 核酸がその実験の第一段階で（タバコの）葉を傷めなかった理由は、その植物（タバコ）に核酸を入れるのに時間をかけすぎたからだった。

４．自由英作文（2問選択、各15点、計30点、部分点あり）
@DNA exists only in the nucleus while the RNA appears both in the nucleus and the cytoplasm. The DNA contains the directions for the making of living material. The DNA passes its protein manufacturing instructions to the RNA. The RNA then goes into the cytoplasm to help in the manufacture of the proteins. This is how the proteins are made by the workings of two different nucleic acid brothers, DNA and RNA.
AThe theory of relativity is Einstein’s theory concerning space, time, and motion. If you talk about the relativity of something, you mean the fact that nothing cannot be evaluated without being considered and judged in the context of other things or with reference to its results or effects. For instance, to say that an automobile is traveling at 50 miles an hour is not enough. It is moving 50 hours per hour relative to the earth.
BAccording to Freud, the personality consists of three parts: id, the ego, and the superego. While the id just tries to satisfy its needs without considering anything else, the ego has to take care of the entire person by effectively connecting the needs of the id and the real world. The superego which is shaped by outside world either punishes or rewards the ego. These three parts of the personality sometimes struggles each other and sometimes get along very well.
試験講評
平均点 ６１．１点、最高点 93点､ 最低点 26点
全体として今の一つの出来であった。原因は、４の自由英作文で白紙か、極端に短い答えが多かったせいである。今回の出題は、２の和文英訳中、３問は予め配布済みのプリントから出題しており､また４の自由英作文３題すべてプリントからの出題であるから､予め解答を作って試験の臨めば難なく高得点を取れる問題で、実際に高得点を取った学生は完璧に近い解答であった。試験勉強と授業の予習が一体になって初めて英語力の向上が可能になるので、準備なしで試験に臨む学生が少なくないことは非常に残念である。細かい点を指摘するとまず１については割とよく出来ていたが､Dのmake sense out of を間違えている答案が多かった。これはmake sense of と同じく「理解する」という意味だが､make sense of よりやや強く「何とか（つとめて）理解する」というニュアンスである。２に関して思わしくなかったのは､Cで、「一般的に受け入れられた理論」をgenerally accepted theoryとシンプルに訳出した答案は少なかった。英語ではこのように、例えばwidely-known argument(よく知られた議論）とかcritically acclaimed movie（賞賛を浴びている映画）といったような、副詞＋過去分詞＋名詞といった表現が多用されるので英語的表現をマスターするために覚えてほしい。３は全般的によくできていた。４は予め準備してきた学生はきちんと書けていたが、前述のように白紙に近いものや、文章ではなく箇条書きにしたものも少なくなかった。解答例を参照して復習してほしい。
