Recruitment for a tenure-track position at the level of associate professor or lecturer (Comparative Studies of Civilization and Culture Course)
We are looking for someone suitable for a tenure-track position [*4] in the Intercultural Communication Division, Comparative Studies of Civilization and Culture Course in the Graduate School of Intercultural Studies. Under the tenure-track system, the term of employment is five years from the date of employment. During this period, the appointee will receive an interim review in the third year of employment, followed by a tenure review in the fourth year. If her/his research record and other relevant aspects are evaluated as excellent, she/he will be awarded tenured status from the university.

The appointee will teach the following subject areas with a reduction in teaching hours compared to other tenured faculty: international sociology, transcultural studies, community studies, comparative studies of civilization, or minority cultures at the graduate level, as well as specialist subjects and liberal arts subjects at the undergraduate level[*5]. The appointee shall be involved in research projects and programs with the faculty at the Center for Promoting Intercultural Studies (PROMIS), inter-university centers, and/or other related organizations.
The candidates must have substantial research achievements in social or human science. Field-work experience and/or study overseas, conference presentations and/or other academic achievements in foreign languages are an advantage.
